Suzy was born in Wichita, Kansas. She attended Abilene Christian College (now ACU) in 1964-66. She transferred to the University of Kansas, and then the University of Missouri while her first husband was in medical school, and earned her B.S. in Journalism from the University of Kansas in 1995. At present, she is writing and speaking full-time. Suzy was divorced in 2000 after 33 years of marriage. “I was devastated on so many levels, I can’t even describe them all,” she said. “I was sick at heart about it, and I thought my life would be a sad, weak half-life until I died. This struggle, even though I never would have chosen it, has help me grow and has brought rewards I never could have imagined."

Suzy is now married to Terry Brown, and they live in Kansas City, Missouri. Suzy has four children. Terry has three, and they have 11 grandchildren between them. “We have blessings all over the place,” she said.

“ The strength God gives endures the unendurable and spills into joy.
He makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful he has planned for us.”       Colossians 1:11-12  |  The Message.
